Dave was born and raised in Champaign, Illinois. He attended college locally at the University of Illinois and lived in his parents' basement during his college career.

Before Dave's senior year, his parents moved to Sarasota, Florida where they had
purchased a condo for retirement. Dave was the only child and his parents' deeded
him the house in Champaign as a graduation present, he need only to take over the payments.

Following college graduation, Dave was offered a job in Dallas, Texas. The position
was a dream-job of Dave's, so he quickly accepted the position.

He bought a condo in Dallas, and he planned on keeping the house in Champaign as a rental. After a few months, of non-qualified rental applicants, Dave began to grow impatient as the financial stress of two mortgages began to build.

He consulted with a local Realtor and granted her the exclusive right to sell his
Champaign home. The length of the agreement was 60 days. He really wanted to get the house sold, so he enticed the Realtor with an above average commission. There where multiple open houses and a decent amount of interest displayed in the property by potential buyers, however not one offer was made within the 60 day period.

After an unsatisfactory experience with the Realtor, Dave consulted with Schwaps.
Schwaps and Dave were able to agree on a sales price and due to the fact that Dave was getting eaten alive by his second mortgage, Schwaps was able to close in two days. Dave was able to move-on with life in Dallas and had wished he had turned to Schwaps months earlier.
